Storms

Chapter 1 : Storms

Thunder shook the wet ground and lightning danced across the dark sky. I huddled back into my semi-warm tent. I looked through my pack: a flashlight, a box that varies in batteries, my clothes that might last me for 2 weeks, and barely any food. Two weeks ago, I didn’t have to face this survival game. I was riding in a silver Honda van. I was napping away as my brother complained about his bladder. My mom was reading a map and my dad’s eyes were glued onto the road. Sunlight hugged us as we headed for the parking lot. We took all the supplies and looks for a flat dirt ground. I set up the tents as my family unpacked the rest of the supplies.

A couple of hours later, the sun slowly crouched down into the purple mountains and left long shadows. My mom immediately made fire from a couple twigs and a matchbox. Everyone scouted for twigs and threw them into the fire until it roared in orange greatness. We waited until it calmed down and did what every other camping family did, sing. I bet an owl, who was 15 miles away from us, can hear us and be awaken. Then our days started to be repetitive. Then an unexpected storm broke out.

I was shivering and praying for dear life as the first clap of thunder screamed into my ears. I had a tent to myself, which now seems unfair, so I had no company what-so-ever. The tent had an opening on the top, but it had plastic sewn on the ends. My brother called it a porthole, and it worked as a porthole, too. I saw a full moon, and it wasn’t long until a couple stars appeared in the sky. I stared at it until I began to doze off.

Then, dawn woke me up. I literally ran over to the other tent, which was only 3 feet away. I opened it slightly and saw everyone in there. I went back to sleep with with a slight smile on my dry face.

The next couple of days weren’t as great either. Storms happened every night. I now have over 20 blankets wrapping me like a burrito. Tonight was the worst. I was lucky to remember to nail down the ropes. Guilt struck me, I forgot to do the same for the other. It was only standing because of the bendable metal frame. I heard the camp fire’s burnt wood slam into the nearest tree. I checked my backpack and hugged it tightly. Rain continued to drop like bombs, but the thunder was no long so booming. I stared at my porthole to see if the rain stopped, it did. I stepped out my door and was shocked. The tent next door was gone.

Apology

I apologize for the long break.  I have stacks of homework for each class.  I have personally lost interest in my old, semi-suspense story.  I am trying to start a book called Survival.  But it was hand-written and it will take me some time to type it up.  Thanks for the patience of the inconvenience break.

~Tiffany

Was it her ? Was it really her ? “Grandma?” I asked cautiously afraid of her answer. She walked out of the sunlight. Her warm smile greeted me with no doubt. I gave her an immediate bear hug. It was good to have a positive effect since the last couple of days. My brother hopped down the stairs and bounced onto her lap. I smiled at the sight. I then pinched myself to test if it really is a dream. It wasn’t, as an effect, I had a red spot on my arm. Grandma then recommended us to take a walk around the park. I was relieved, I was desperate to leave the house.

2 wonderful hours later, we finally started home. There was a small not beneath the doormat. The fancy decorations made it seem even creepier. I ripped open the pink envelope and met a mysterious letter, written in a scrawl that looked neither printed nor cursive. It was in black ink, dark black ink. I stuffed it into my pocket as Grandma jogged up the porch steps. Her eyes were terrified. I scanned the neighborhood for my brother. He was splashing in the pond, screaming. I ran to him, scared and terrified.

Dawn came 5 hours late. I slithered out of bed and headed for the tiled bathroom. I splashed cold water into my face. The morning was no longer cheerful, instead it was gloomy. I found a note on the kitchen counter saying that my mom is going to be out of town. “Great! Now I have this house to myself,” I said sarcastically to myself. The front door flung open and my current guardian walked in.

I dashed into the bathroom. I flicked on the lights, but it was no use at all. The shimmering lights immediately exploded! I huddled into the corner of the hamper. While I was recovering from the shock, the air from the vent blasted into my cold face. I laid there, helpless while the wind swam around the room. I drifted off into my own little world. I couldn’t tell if I was dreaming or not. I did the common test : pinching yourself. I yelped and rubbed my red skin. Ahead of me, I saw a strange, dark figure. It was heading toward me. I was a rabbit, helpless against the cunning fox.

I pushed the figure and ran off. I dashed here and there. Apparently, I couldn’t find my room! I finally found the right door, I pushed on the knob and fell in. I stood up, and locked the door, I drew the curtains, locked the door from the bathroom, and practically blocked every entrance to my bed. I curled underneath my quilt and waited for dawn.

Would you want come here in the middle of the night?

I walked across the wooden floor. After each step a CREEK! greeted me toward the oak door. I pushed myself forward and turned the knob. another CREEK! filled my ears. I ignored it and walked right in. I forgot a flashlight to shine my way around. But, luckily, there was a full moon outside and I used it instead. I looked under the bed, in the closet, and even in the trunk in front of the table. I decided to leave Brian, my younger sibling, alone. Until I saw a mysterious light coming from the bathroom. I was a shaking chihuahua. My ears perked up when I heard a mysterious sound. I dashed out, I hoped I never saw it again. But my nightmare just begun.

( I used my teacher’s advice about writting stories as post)

If you read the title and know what day it is, it’s………….CHRISTMAS!!!!!!! My family usually have a party at my grandparent’s house in Santa Ana, California. I was depressed because……IT SNOWED IN LAS VEGAS! I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT! I was so bummed out about being drizzled with rain while my friends get to have a snow day!

How did your Christmas turn out?

Breaks

If you go to a year-around-school you might understand what “track-break” is. Since my class is track 5, we get an early start for winter break. Half the class will visit their relatives, go on a long, interesting vacation, or maybe just stay home all day playing video games and watching television. Anything can happen during our break.

What are you are going to do if you had more than 3 months off? What are you really doing on your break? Are you going to do something I have listed, or something else? Do you miss your friends?

The Never Ending Story

A while ago, I learned that my teacher deleted a post called “The Never Ending Story.” I thought that this post should be a tribute to the original creation. So please comment, try not to end it as soon as possible. :)

I walked up to the front steps of an old, library’s porch. The door slowly creaked open. This is how my nightmare began……….

(Please continue my short beginning)

Mean Comments

I’ve been getting some comments tell me things such as,” Tiffany, when are you going to have a new post?” and, “It’s about time you have a new post!” They’re from *cough somebody cough cough* But This is just a message to you,” BE PAITENT!!!!!!!!!!!” But then again, I’m not patient. So…………… now, please don’t rush me. I just don’t have enough time to think of new ideas. SO, please tell me how you think of this random post! :) And you know who you are. :)
